Friends of Pill Library AGM and first anniversary celebration, Thursday 3rd September

Friends of Pill Library was formed one year ago! Please join us to celebrate at our Annual General Meeting where we'll be reflecting on successes and discussing plans for the future. Anyone with an interest in the library is welcome to attend. We'll be providing free hot and cold soft drinks, biscuits and cakes. We will also be electing committee members - please email info@fopl.org.uk if you'd like to become a trustee or officer.

Kids' craft activities, Summer 2026

We have lots of fantastic craft activities for the kids taking place this summer, and best of all, they're completely free!

Badge making - Friday 24th July, 2-4pm (drop-in, no booking needed)

Make a paper windmill - Friday 21st August, 2-4pm (drop-in, no booking needed)

Make a scrap fabric hanging - Friday 28th August, 2-4pm (drop-in, no booking needed)

Make a bookmark - self-led activity during library opening hours

New Introduction to Ancestry sessions

Did you know you can use Ancestry for free at Pill Library to research your family history? Come along to one of the free monthly Introduction to Ancestry sessions (next session Tuesday 14th July) to find out more and get help from the friendly family history library volunteers.

Library events this June!

There's plenty to do at the library this June. Plus, Friends of Pill Library will be holding our first ever pub quiz on Thursday 18th at 8pm in The Star! Entry is for a donation and there will prizes for the winning teams. Please come along and join us for a fun evening, all in aid of a good cause.

Free half term activities

We know how important it is to have free and fun activities for children over the school holidays, which is why we've worked with the wonderful librarians at North Somerset Libraries to make sure there's something on for kids every day Pill Library is open during the May half term.

UPDATE: We've been advised Pill Library will be opening late on Tuesday 31st March due to a library staff meeting. The advertised Bring Your Own Book Club & Coffee Morning will therefore not be taking place that day. Watch out for dates in April being advertised shortly.

Between North Somerset Libraries and Friends of Pill Library, there's so much going on at Pill Library this March, including THREE Bring Your Own Book Group and Coffee Mornings, plus all new Tech Support sessions on Tuesdays.

We'd also love to see new faces at our Friends of Pill Library social event on Friday 6th March or our meeting on 23rd March. Drop us an email at info@fopl.org.uk if you'd like to know more!

After a short break in December, our Friends of Pill Library Coffee Morning and BYOB Club is returning in the New Year, so grab whatever you're reading, or just come along for a chat or a free drink and a biscuit! Our January dates are:

Festive book trail

Our festive book trail is lots of fun for little kids during December! Grab a map from the library and help Father Christmas find the missing books before Christmas Eve. All helpers will receive a small prize as a thank you.

November Coffee Mornings and Bring your Own Book club

Grab whatever book you're reading and come and enjoy a free tea or coffee with Friends of Pill Library. Just drop in, no booking needed.

Wiggle and jump to Hallow-Green stories and rhymes to celebrate Halloween and Green Libraries week. Free; fancy dress welcome.

28 October - 29 November Autumn Book Cover Scavenger Hunt

Find these Autumn-themed book covers scattered around the library and claim a small prize! Free fun for kids.

28 October - 29 November Brambly Hedge activity sheets

Here at Friends of Pill Library we LOVE Brambly Hedge. So what better way to celebrate Autumn than with some lovely Brambly Hedge activity sheets? Ask library staff for free colouring and word searches.
